D Family at Haleiwa Beach Park – Haleiwa, HI | Oahu Family Photographer
Are you ready for an image-packed post? This was my first time shooting at Haleiwa Beach Park all the way up in the North Shore of Oahu and the light was amazing! We opted for a sunset session as we both lived in the Honolulu Airport area and did not want to make the 35-40 minute drive very early in the morning.
This location, while not requested as often, has become one of my favorites (I even had my own family session done here back in January) for the scenery, gorgeous light at sunset, and the palm tree mini-forest! There are actually TWO parts of Haleiwa Beach Park, the western end and the eastern end. The area I’ve come to love happens to be nestled in the eastern side.
There aren’t many beachgoers here except for a few surfers here and there making it a great location to have a family session. The colors (specifically the greenery) are subtle, muted, and pairs very well with my shooting and editing style. Danielle dressed her family in such pretty, soft colors and it tied in really well with the location and lighting.
Danielle’s little guy kept us on our toes during the session, but that’s pretty normal for his age–I loved it! We started right at the palm tree area because the sun was a little too high and there were a line of trees providing us with bright, open shade. We gradually moved our way down to the small beach area which was perfect for her little one since there was a wall breaking down most of the waves.
Danielle and her family were full of love, laughs, and just completely natural throughout their entire session, it made my job so easy. I loved so many images that I had to share this enormous blog post so you all can see!
