Black + White Challenge Results! Hawaii Lifestyle Photographer, Sharleen Mey Photography
Yay, the shares are finally live! Lydia and Candice–the ladies who participated in this little image exercise with me–both agreed that we needed an extra week to get ourselves motivated for this challenge. I’m happy to announce that the week is up and I am excited to share with you what I’ve captured along with my thoughts on this group image activity.
First, if you haven’t joined and/or are interested in participating in more image challenges and joining in on our blog circles, check out my Facebook Community group HERE. As long as you have a camera and are willing to participate in some blog circles with us, you’re welcome to join–at any skill level!
Now on to my thoughts and the activity as a whole. So I really loved choosing this exercise as our first blog circle activity as it was pretty straightforward and simple–plus it didn’t matter who/what the subject matter was. I’ll admit that I wish I could’ve captured more than what I am posting today but the past two weeks have been crazy with our personal and home life.
I found out that I really love a contrasty black and white with a very subtle touch of matte and grain. I prefer more dramatic lighting situations because I can play more with shadows and highlights in post-production. I wish I could’ve stepped up my creativity a bit more, but time flew away from me and I am pretty satisfied with what I was able to capture. Look below and check out the images for yourself!
Thanks so much for reading and please head on over to Lydia’s blog to see her take on the exercise!
