October Pt. 2 – Honolulu Family Photographer, Sharleen Mey Photography
The last two weeks of October quieted down quite a bit for us! We got back to a relaxing schedule and just spent time hanging out at home, or with friends at the beach whenever I didn’t have a session. Oh, I did try my hand at planting already grown flowers and look at what happened–didn’t survive. Oh well, it was not meant to be ;).
Most of the images in this series was taken at Baby Makapu’u beach on the south-east side of the island. I had a recent family session there and my client recommended I come back with the children. I invited my friend + her children to meet me there around sunrise and they all had a great time wading through the tidepools and catching live sea critters.
Liam’s fifth birthday was on October 28th and I cannot believe how big he has become! I will no longer have a buddy with me once he starts school next Fall. Liam requested a rainbow cake and I happened to make it myself because it was so last minute. When it came to presentation it wasn’t the best, but it still tasted amazing and the kids were in awe when I took a slice out so I think my job was well done. I’ll attach a phone photo below.
Finally, Halloween came and went! Although we’ve lived in Hawaii until the kids were 1, 2, and 3 years old, we did not go trick-or-treating until we moved to Maryland in 2012. Let me tell you, we were freezing our bums off that year haha. It felt great to not have the children layer up under their costumes this year, but poor Liam was sweating under that Toad headpiece. We kept a bottle of iced water on us and the kids had a great time walking around the neighborhood. Afterwards, we let them pass out candy at home.
October has been a really eventful month, and I hope to have more exciting adventures within the next two months!
Thanks so much for checking in with me and don’t forget to see what Jamie has been up to HERE.
