October Pt. One, Fall Break Fun | Honolulu Family Photographer
We’ve had quite a bit of adventuring the first two weeks of October. The girls were on Fall Break for an entire week and I knew we had to keep occupied or else everyone–not just me–would go crazy.
Our time was spent doing activities at home, making yummy food, going to the pool, beach, and zoo among other things. This is also the first time in a while where I’ve taken my big camera out with me, I usually just use my phone (I have a love/hate relationship with the camera) but the phone images don’t really get uploaded. I feel like when I take my dSLR out I pay more attention to my surroundings and the details.
I finally purchased a family membership at The Honolulu Zoo this time since we frequent the establishment a lot. The previous times we’ve gone the kids were all under age so they were free to get in. We absolutely love the African Savannah exhibit and being able to see elephants, giraffes, and zebras hang around. Their Keiki Zoo is pretty awesome as well.
The kids and I also tried Dippin’ Dots for the first time, ever. Such a weird sensation to eat ice cream like that, but nevertheless it was delicious.
Nearing the end of their break, we decided to check out how pumpkin patches are hosted here in Oahu. Seth and I took the kids to Aloun Farms in Kapolei and they really enjoyed it! It was strange not having to bundle up, but the pumpkins were in great shape and there were a lot of activities for the kids. We didn’t get a chance to try the roasted corn from one of the food vendors, so we will have to go back and do that (Caleigh loves corn!).
I am breaking up October into two parts because of all the images captured in the first two weeks, so the second half of this month will be documented and posted in a few weeks, enjoy!
P.S. – I combined the images featured in this blog post with BlogStomp – an image preparation tool. I can’t believe how fast it has streamlined my blogging and image sharing workflow! Give it a try and you will not be disappointed.
Thanks so much for checking in with me and don’t forget to see what Jamie has been up to HERE.
